Past events: First adria training workshop in Pforzheim, Germany
From May 9 to 11, 2006 the first participants of the new adria training concept for industry professionals had a successful start. Participants were from companies like ALPINE, HARMAN/BECKER, JENOPTIK and OSRAM and found the 3 days very useful for they day-to-day business. "An excellent new training for people who want to improve their basic knowledge on advanced displays", a participant praised the workshop. The host, Karlheinz BLANKENBACH, professor at the University of Pforzheim, even accompanied the crowd for the "after-work-sessions" to cosy downtown Pforzheim restaurants: that's commitment! Sebastien WEITBRUCH (Thomson Brandt), Vu Thien BINH (Université Lyon), Jose MAGARINO (Thales Avionics LCD), André VAN CALSTER (Ghent University), Didier PRIBAT (CNRS/Ecole Polytechnique), Janos VERES (Merck Chemicals), Christophe PRAT (Thomson), and Seamus BURNS (Plasticlogic) gave a comprehensive overview on today's display technology. Each day concluded with a "Questions & Answers" session where the trainees had the opportunity to talk about their specific challenges on the job - That is a special incentive of the adria training. adria will continue this series with two more workshops, one in UK and one in France, this year. A report about the first workshop is also part of newsletter #5 (see below)! |
