Education & Training
Education and training has been recognised by the EC as an important component of the advanced displays research integration action funded under framework six.
This element of the adria programme has brought together some of the major players in the field of displays education and induced both a spirit of co-operation and a fruitful exchange of ideas, philosophies and practical information.
The work in the context of adria represents a broad initial overview of the state of education and training in display technology within the EU, together with some interim recommendations both for further research and development, and also with regard to the imperative to drive towards a fully integrated European advanced displays masters degree.
The training element concentrates on the planned series of seminars organised by le Club Visu (see the adria events calendar) and gives illustrative examples of other programmes. A more detailed survey of training programmes will be presented in 2006 when the adria competence mapping database has been populated with sufficient data to allow a more detailed analysis. Use will also be made of the adria forums and other informal networking events through which we will invite the relevant parties to make their courses known.
